There may be only a few applications that require your CPU to work slower than the usual speed, nevertheless there are occasions when that is required, for example if you want to play old games. With Cpukiller3 you can slow down the CPU speed of your computer.
The main advantage of using this program is that you can choose to slow down the CPU speed only for certain applications or for all the applications running on your computer. Another advantage is that you can adjust the CPU slowdown factor from 0% to 100%, so you can test which speed factor is most suitable for each case.
The way to slow down the CPU speed for a specific application is by adding a preset. To add a preset you need to configure the next parameters: the preset name, the path of the application, a hot key to start the process, and the CPU speed factor required to slow down the application. You can also enable hot keys to start, stop, increase or decrease the slow down factor; enable hyper threading/multiprocessor support; select between two slow down algorithms, and more.
The only disadvantage I found is that the program only considers the CPU speed to run old applications, but it never mentions that this can also be solved by using the Windows compatibility mode.
